Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly working to bring Al-Ittihad’s Moussa Diaby (27) back to Germany, according to information from Sky Sport Deutschland.
Whilst no agreement has yet been reached between the various parties, discussions are well underway. A potential transfer could therefore be finalised for a fee of less than €30m.
Having taken charge of the Werkself this summer, former Toulouse FC manager Carles Martínez Novell is said to be keen to integrate the French winger into his 4-3-3 system. Should the deal go through, Diaby would return to a club he knows well, having made 172 appearances for them (scoring 49 goals and providing 47 assists) between 2019 and 2023.
The Paris-born player, who left Aston Villa for Saudi Arabia two years ago, could thus return to Europe following a successful spell in the Middle East, where he made 71 appearances, scored 11 goals, provided 31 assists and won two trophies with Al-Mundiali.
