Bayern attacker ruled out for months with injury

After impressing during pre-season for Bayern Munich, 17-year-old Maycon Cardozo has suffered a significant injury blow.

As Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday, the young winger is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.

“It’s a bitter blow – he has a dislocated shoulder," Freund told reporters ahead of Bayern's DFB-Pokal game against VfL Osnabrück.

“He’s having surgery today and will be out for three to four months,” he added.

Cardozo has made two appearances for Bayern’s senior team.
