Bayern Munich's sporting management have a number of crucial talks ahead of them in order to secure new long-term contracts for the club's star players.
One of the top priorities is to tie Jamal Musiala to a new contract beyond 2026, as club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen reiterated in an interview with Abendzeitung.
"It is nothing new that we want to extend the contract of one of the best players in the world," said Dreesen.
“Jamal Musiala has developed excellently with us, he is a player who thrills the crowd, who creates a spectacle with his individual class, who can turn a game around. And I very much hope that these first really good talks that [board member for sport] Max Eberl and [sporting director] Christoph Freund are having with Jamal will ultimately lead to an extension.”
“I don't want to put a timeframe on it now,” said Dreesen.
“The important thing is that it happens, even if it doesn't happen by the end of the year. Jamal Musiala, along with the likes of Aleks Pavlovic and Joshua Kimmich, is one of the faces of the future at Bayern. Players like that should shape the club.”
With Kimmich only tied to the club until next summer, it's clear that extending his contract is also high on the agenda.
"We have already said publicly that we want to start talks with him about a contract extension as soon as possible. I'd like him to continue to be one of the cornerstones of the team," said Dreesen.
