Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt, two of the Bundesliga's in-form teams, faced off in a highly anticipated clash at the Allianz Arena. The hosts entered the match with a formidable record, having won six and drawn one of their seven league fixtures in 2025. Frankfurt, boasting the second-best record of the calendar year, arrived unbeaten in their last seven matches under Dino Toppmöller.

Bayern dominate as Olise breaks the deadlock

The match began with Bayern asserting their dominance, creating several chances in the opening exchanges. However, it was Frankfurt who had the first clear opportunity, with Hugo Ekitiké narrowly missing the target in the sixth minute. The hosts quickly responded, with Thomas Müller and Michael Olise both coming close to opening the scoring. Bayern were in control but had the blow of Joshua Kimmich being forced off with an injury in the 43rd minute, replaced by Leon Goretzka. Just as it seemed the first half would end goalless, Olise struck in the third minute of added time, finishing off a slick move to give Bayern a 1-0 lead at the break.

Bayern extend lead as Frankfurt struggle

The second half saw Bayern maintain their momentum, with Hiroki Ito doubling their lead in the 61st minute. The goal came from a corner, with Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp misjudging the flight of the ball, allowing Ito to capitalise. Frankfurt struggled to respond, with their best chance falling to Elye Wahi, who had come on as a substitute at half-time. Bayern continued to press, with Leroy Sané coming close to adding a third, only to be denied by a last-ditch block. Sané's frustration showed later when he received a yellow card in the 77th minute, followed by Tuta being booked for Frankfurt three minutes later.

Musiala magic seals the victory

As the match entered its final stages, Musiala took centre stage with a moment of individual brilliance. In the 83rd minute, the young German international embarked on a mazy run, weaving past Frankfurt defenders before calmly slotting the ball past Trapp. The goal was a fitting reward for Musiala's outstanding performance throughout the match. There was still time for Serge Gnabry, who had come on as a late substitute, to add gloss to the scoreline, scoring Bayern's fourth in stoppage time to complete a resounding 4-0 victory.
