After only just returning from a spell on the sidelines, Alphonso Davies recently suffered another setback, with a hamstring issue set to keep him out until after the international break.
The Canadian international missed most of the first half of the season due to an ACL injury and has struggled to regain full fitness since, with repeated setbacks hampering his rhythm.
According to Bild football chief Christian Falk, these ongoing injury issues are causing increasing concerns within FC Bayern’s management, to the extent that the club could consider strengthening with a natural left-back in the summer as cover.
For the most part, Josip Stanišić and Konrad Laimer, both right-footed, have shared the role at left-back this season, while left-footed centre-back Hiroki Itō has also been deployed there on occasion.
Bayern are in a strong negotiating position regarding Davies after he signed a contract extension until 2030 just over a year ago.
Prior to that announcement, Manchester United showed interest, and should they return with a lucrative offer, Bayern could consider a potential sale, according to Falk.
However, Falk notes that while Davies is still being monitored by Manchester United, there have been no recent inquiries from the Premier League side.
