Although not quite up to the pitch of a fully competitive fixture, Bayern Munich fans packed out the Allianz Arena Vincent Kompany's side took on Tottenham Hotspur in a pre-season friendly. In the end, the reigning Bundesliga champions ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.

The Bavarians made a lively start with Michael Olise curling just wide from a 7th-minute free kick. Meanwhile, Leon Goretzka fired wide after some neat vision from Kimmich, albeit the former was probably just offside before the ball was delivered.

It wasn't long before the ball nestled in the visitors' net as Bayern opened the scoring in the 12th-minute. Who else but Harry Kane would latch onto Olise's long ball, control it beautifully and whip his effort beyond Guglielmo Vicario into the lower-left corner.

Kompany's men could have doubled their advantage just three minutes later as Bayern loanee João Palhinha wiped out Josip Stanisic in the box. Amazingly, Kane - usually so reliable from the spot - lost his footing and skied his spot-kick north of the crossbar.

Chances were few and far between past the half-hour mark, aside from a couple of Goretzka snapshots. Some astute defending from Micky van de Ven proved crucial as Spurs hung in, while Richarlison couldn't get the better of Manuel Neuer at the other end.

Bayern regained control of the game after the break as Kane and Olise combined nicely on 50 minutes, but the bar came to Spurs' rescue. Vicario was brought into the action by the Bavarians' French winger minutes later with a fine save to deny a curling strike.

Although Konrad Laimer missed a solid chance to extend their lead, the Austrian played a pivotal role in the Bundesliga champions' second goal by winning back possession. He unselfishly fed Kingsley Coman who drifted inside and picked out the top-left corner on the hour.

Shortly after Kane was denied spectacularly by Vicario once more, Vincent Kompany rang in the changes around with around 22 minutes remaining on the clock. The likes of Kim Min-Jae, Tom Bischof, Raphael Guerreiro, Sacha Boey, Lennart Karl and Paul Wanner made cameo appearances.

Die Rekordmeister added a wonderful third and fourth goal to their performance as 17-year-old Karl joined in on the fun. Luis Díaz's mazy dribble down the left created space for the highly rated academy talent to fire home from the edge of the box. Six minutes later, Jonah Kusi-Asare repeated the magic from the opposite angle to round things off.
