Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Nathan De Cat. 

The Bavarian giants are tracking the progress of the exciting teenage midfielder, but could face competition from other clubs.

The 17-year-old will represent Belgium at the U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

Bayern battle Dortmund for Nathan De Cat?

Bayern are always on the lookout for exciting young players, and De Cat is one of them.

The youngster is a product of Anderlecht’s academy, having joined them at the age of 10.

De Cat made his senior debut last season and made seven appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal.

He has been playing regularly this season, managing 13 appearances in the Belgian Pro League. In total, he has made 18 appearances in all competitions already.

A towering midfielder who loves to dribble, the youngster was included in The Guardian‘s “Next Generation 2025: 60 of the best young talents in world football”, which suggests that the hype surrounding him is not misplaced.

Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Bayern could face strong competition from German rivals Borussia Dortmund.

The youngster has a contract at Anderlecht until 2027, and he could be seen as a long-term replacement for Leon Goretzka.

Leon Goretzka – will he sign a new contract?

The 30-year-old has started in eight Bundesliga games this season and has made one substitute appearance so far.

The German midfielder has made three substitute appearances in the Champions League.

While Joshua Kimmich has been outstanding this season for Bayern, Goretzka divides opinion among the fans.

There is a feeling that Goretzka slows the tempo down, and he does not contribute enough in terms of output.

The likes of Alexander Pavlovic and Tom Bischof have impressed heavily whenever given the opportunity, but Kompany has relied on Goretzka’s experience this season.

Goretzka has a contract at Bayern until the end of the season, and there is no indication that the club want to extend his stay.
