Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has this week directed a less-than-subtle dig at La Liga champions Barcelona.
This comes in relation to the Blaugrana’s activity on the transfer front over recent years.
The financial situation at the Camp Nou has of course been widely discussed in the media for some time now.
As much comes amid the widespread knowledge that Deco and those in the Barca boardroom have long been working under serious constraints.
So serious has the situation become over the last 12 months, that the Catalans have not been able to guarantee new signings of their registration status.
And the significance of as much has evidently not been lost on those behind the scenes at the aforementioned Bayern Munich.
Speaking during an interview on Sport1 (as cited by Diario Sport) this week, Uli Hoeness, president at the Allianz Arena, used Barcelona as an example of how not to run a club in the modern day:
“There is the example of Barcelona. If you shop, shop, buy… suddenly you have 1,200 million debts. Goodbye, very good.”
