Bayern Munich are continuing to work on a double deal to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz and Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade.
The German champions have had offers for both players rejected but remain confident that deals can be agreed. Both players have communicated a desire to join Bayern this summer, despite the stance of the selling clubs.
Bayern saw a €67.5m (£58.4m) bid turned down for Diaz, with Liverpool insisting that the Colombia international is not for sale.
However, there is belief that an offer of around €80m (£69.2m) can persuade Liverpool to the table. Diaz has two years to run on his contact at Anfield and has expressed interest in leaving Liverpool.
Bayern also saw an offer of €55m (£47.6m) rejected for Woltemade. Stuttgart have insisted it will take an ‘extraordinary offer’ to sell the 23-year-old in the current window.
Despite disappointment with those bids, Bayern remain confident deals can be done and have the financial power to secure both players.
“Bayern Munich are working hard on these two transfers – they are absolute priorities!” BILD journalist Christian Falk said to CF Bayern Insider.
“In the case of Woltemade and Stuttgart, it is still the opinion of the Bundesliga outfit that they won’t sell the striker in the current summer transfer window.
“That said, we heard that this could still be part of the poker game. €65m [£56.2m] would be a price they would go to the table for.
“In the case of Luis Diaz, you never know how willing Liverpool are to enter into negotiations, but Diaz has communicated to Bayern Munich yet again that he wants to join them.
“We expect that about €80m [£69.2m] will be required for Liverpool to entertain a first round of talks.”
