Bayern Munich would be looking to sign a new striker next summer, and they have earmarked Fisnik Asllani as one of the possible targets.

The German champions signed Nicolas Jackson on loan from Chelsea during the summer transfer window, but he has failed to meet the club’s performance standards.

The Bavarian giants are expected to look for options elsewhere, but signing a top talent from the Bundesliga cannot be ruled out.

Jackson moved to Bayern during the summer window on transfer deadline day, and the German giants have an option to sign the Senegal international for £57m at the conclusion of the season if certain terms are met.

According to a report from Bild, Bayern are unwilling to trigger the clause, meaning Jackson will return to his parent club next summer.

Bayern have been linked to a move for Dusan Vlahovic, but they are more interested in investing in German talent. The Bavarian giants signed Tom Bischof for free after his contract with Hoffenheim expired, and they want another top talent from the same club.

Christian Falk says on Fisnik Asllani

Speaking to CFBayern Insider podcast, the Bild journalist said:

You already have an example within the squad in Tom Bischof; he’s doing very well! He was a free agent coming from Hoffenheim. It’s hard to get playing time in this squad, but he did. I think if he gets the chance, he could be a player for Bayern’s first-XI. This is the way Bayern Munich are trying to go, but it’s not only German, it’s also German speakers.

They have one player on the list, Fisnik Asllani, again of Hoffenheim. He’s a striker, currently playing for the Kosovo national side, but he was born in Berlin and speaks German. So, FC Bayern are thinking of him. The 23-year-old has a release clause of about €30m (£26.2m), and perhaps he can be the next player in the squad with German roots. Also, it’s worth pointing out that he knows how the Bundesliga works and is a young talent.

Of course, we talk about Lennart Karl every week – and rightly so! That’s another path Bayern are exploring, developing some German players through the club’s academy.
