Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has said the club won’t be signing Nicolas Jackson on a permanent basis.

Jackson finally completed his move to Bayern Munich on deadline day after some back and forth with Chelsea about returning to the club after Liam Delap’s injury.

Chelsea eventually got Bayern to agree to a loan with obligation to buy rather than the original option they had initially agreed on.

Nicolas Jackson won’t join Bayern Munich on permanent deal

Jackson has stated how he was sad to leave Chelsea, but he’s set for a reunion with the Blues much sooner than he would have thought.

Chelsea are due to face Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League game on September 17th, a game which Jackson said he’s excited about.

It had been reported Jackson’s move will only become an obligation if he makes a certain amount of appearances, but Hoeness has now dropped a bombshell.

“It’s not a €16.5M loan fee, because the player and his agent are contributing €3M, so that leaves €13.5M,” he said as quoted on X.com.

“And there will definitely not be a permanent contract.

“That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start. He will never do that.”

If this is true, and there’s no reason to believe it’s not , then barring a major injury crisis Chelsea will have to try and sell Jackson again next summer.

Marc Guiu to provide cover

In the mean time Marc Guiu will provide cover for the injured Delap, and an alternative to Joao Pedro, who’s made a brilliant start to life in Blue.

Pedro has established himself as an important player, and his importance has increased with Delap now absent, and the Blues will desperately be hoping he can stay fit.

Guiu only made three Premier League appearances last season, although he did miss the almost the entire second half of the campaign through injury, and it will be interesting to see if Enzo Maresca trusts him more this season.
