Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is prioritising a move abroad this summer.
Rashford will return to Manchester United for pre-season training on July 7th having spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. The Villans decided against activating the £40m purchase option in the loan deal with Rashford now weighing up his future.
Rashford scored four goals and provided six assists in 17 appearances at Aston Villa last season and has attracted interest from clubs in England and Europe.
Barcelona have been linked with a potential move, though are prioritising the signing of Nico Williams from Athletic Club.
A deal for Rashford is not dependent on Williams, but any transfer is likely to come later in the summer window. The Athletic are reporting that Rashford’s preference is for a move abroad and he is open to loan opportunities or involvement as part of a swap deal.
Reports from BILD in Germany have also claimed that Bayern Munich could enter the race for Rashford in their pursuit of a high-profile left-winger. Liverpool duo Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz, alongside AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, are also on the radar of the German champions.
Rashford’s availability and comparatively modest price tag could prove attractive to Vincent Kompany and his recruitment team.
Manchester United would prefer a permanent sale as the Red Devils look to raise funds for further transfer business. Rashford is one of several players at Old Trafford who do not feature in Amorim’s plans for the forthcoming campaign.
