Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich are keen on acquiring Dutch right back Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam. The 19-year-old counts as one of Europe’s hottest prospects at his position after having quintupled his estimated market value from €4m to €20m over the last ten months. Plenty of Premier League clubs are also thought to be interested in the Netherlands U21 international.
Plettenberg and others claim that Bayern have prioritized shoring up the right back position during the forthcoming January transfer window. It does nevertheless count as unlikely that the Bundesliga record champions will find themselves desperate to shell out a large amount of money for a reinforcement.
Natural midfielder Konrad Laimer serves as a regular right back under Vincent Kompany these days. Kompany has also had success deploying Josip Stanisic and even Raphaël Guerreiro at right fullback. Sacha Boey has also done much better under Kompany this year and earned more playing time.
The German footballing media sources still claim that the Bayern administrative duo of Christoph Freund and Max Eberl have made concrete efforts to recruit the teenage talent to the Säbener Straße. Eberl and Freund are reported to have already held talks with the youngster’s agent.
