Marcus Rashford’s future looked relatively straightforward a few weeks ago.
The England international enjoyed his spell at Barcelona, the Blaugrana were open to keeping him, and there appeared to be enough goodwill on all sides to work towards a long-term solution.
Now, things have become more complicated ever since Anthony Gordon was announced by the Catalan team.
According to a report from SPORT, Bayern Munich have entered the race for the Manchester United forward, creating fresh uncertainty around a transfer that Barcelona have yet to resolve.
The timing of their interest is significant because the Catalan club’s €30 million purchase option expires on June 15, and there is currently no indication that it will be activated.

However, that certainly does not mean Barcelona have abandoned the idea of keeping Rashford. Far from it.
Rather, the club still value the player, but rather than committing immediately, Barça are hoping the market develops in a way that makes a future deal more financially manageable.
The risk, however, is that waiting could invite competition.
According to the outlet, Bayern Munich have now begun exploring the conditions of a possible transfer.
In fact, the Bundesliga champions have made contact with both Manchester United and the player’s camp as they assess whether a deal can be completed later this summer.

Unlike Barcelona, Bayern are said to be willing to meet the €30 million fee for the England winger.
However, the German side would want the forward to accept a substantial reduction in salary before any agreement is finalised and for now, Rashford is listening to what Bayern have to say.
However, if Barcelona decide to pursue him again, the England international would be open to spending another season in Catalonia.
Right now, the player wants to focus on the World Cup, but a decision can be expected soon, as Man United are in hurry to resolve this situation.
