Bayern Munich winger remains Florentino Perez’s dream target despite statement denying contact | OneFootball

Earlier today, Real Madrid issued an official statement denying any form of contact between themselves and Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise.

The statement came as a response to speculations doing the rounds that the French winger had become Los Blancos’ priority Galactico target for the summer transfer window.

It had even been suggested that Real Madrid had established contact with Olise’s camp, with club CEO Jose Angel Sanchez allegedly directly involved.

This prompted Real Madrid to come out and deny those reports, while reaffirming their strong relationship with Bayern Munich.

Olise remains the dream target

However, despite the denial of contacts, Fabrizio Romano reports that Olise remains the absolute dream target for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

As pointed out by the transfer expert, Los Blancos, in their statement, only denied having made any contact with the winger, but did not deny that they held an interest in him.

Perez, for his part, is understood to consider the former Crystal Palace attacker as his main priority target for the upcoming summer.

Why the statement then?

The statement issued from Real Madrid was to maintain their good relationship with Bayern Munich.

The two institutions happen to share a very strong working relationship and the Merengues did not want to have any stories in the media saying Olise already had an agreement with them.

Romano reiterates what Real Madrid said in their statement, insisting that there is no contact or negotiation between Olise’s camp and the club.

And Los Blancos, through the statement, intended to make it clear that they would not approach the player before speaking to Bayern Munich.

Not for sale

Meanwhile, amidst all the speculation, Bayern Munich firmly maintain that Olise is not for sale this summer.

The Bavarian giants want to keep the French international at the club beyond the summer and are already working on offering him an improved contract, even though his current deal runs until 2029.

But with Real Madrid willing to spend more than €200 million on his signing, whether such an enormous offer changes the Bundesliga champions’ stance remains to be seen.
