Nathaniel Brown’s transfer to FC Bayern is imminent. It appears that not only Eintracht Frankfurt will benefit from this, but also one of the national team player’s former clubs.

FC Bayern is in the home stretch of the transfer negotiations for Nathaniel Brown. According to consistent media reports, Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt have already agreed on a total package worth around 55 million euros. Currently, only the final details regarding the breakdown between the fixed transfer fee and bonus payments are being worked out.

But it’s not just the Hessians who are following the negotiations with great interest. 1. FC Nürnberg also appears to be in for an unexpected windfall.

As reported by the Münchner Abendzeitung, the second-division club holds a 12.5 percent sell-on clause for Brown. Should the transfer go through as expected for around 55 million euros, approximately seven million euros would flow to Nuremberg.

For the Franconians, this would be an exceptionally lucrative deal.

Eintracht Frankfurt had signed the left-back from the club for around 5.5 million euros as recently as January 2024. Within two and a half years, Brown developed from a promising talent at the Hessian club into a national team player and one of the most sought-after German fullbacks.

Nuremberg benefits from his rapid rise

The 23-year-old’s strong development has paid off for everyone involved. Last season, Brown was one of Frankfurt’s key players, which also brought him to the attention of national team coach Julian Nagelsmann.

At the World Cup, the left-back further underscored his current standing. In the German national team’s decisive 7–1 victory over Curaçao, Brown even scored his first goal in a DFB jersey.

Bayern had been actively pursuing the Frankfurt player for months. Vincent Kompany is considered a strong advocate of the transfer and sees Brown as an ideal reinforcement for the left side of the defense.

It was recently reported that the Munich club has already arranged for the national team player’s medical exam, which is set to take place while the World Cup is still underway in the U.S.

As soon as the final contract details are settled and the medical exam is successfully completed, the transfer is expected to be officially announced. While Bayern looks forward to one of its most important summer signings, 1. FC Nürnberg can also look forward to an unexpected bonus worth millions.
