Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel rejects Tottenham amid other Premier League interest | OneFootball

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel has rejected a proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur, with other Premier League clubs still interested.

All of Aston Villa, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are in contact with Tel and his agent, who are currently assessing all options – including a permanent or loan move.

Spurs had reportedly agreed to a deal with Bayern to sign the 19-year-old for a €60m package, but, having now been informed of the player’s decision, The Lilywhites now look to explore other targets.

A fast, tall forward with excellent ball-striking when cutting in from the left onto his stronger right-foot, the France youth international has struggled for game time since his €20m move to Die Roten from Rennes in July 2022.

Being utilised as both a striker and left-winger, Tel has scored 16 and assisted seven in 83 appearances in all competitions, however only 16 of those were starts as he averages just 27.3 minutes played across all games played.

Meanwhile, under Vincent Kompany this season, no senior outfielder has played fewer Bundesliga minutes for Bayern, subsequently resulting in Tel looking for a move away this January – despite having signed onto a contract extension until June 2029 in March.

Regardless of which club it may be at, it seems as though Tel’s near future will lie in the Premier League.
