Bayern Munich remain adamant Michael Olise will not be allowed to leave, even though the 24-year-old wants to join Real Madrid, according to L'Équipe.
In early June, club executives rejected even hypothetical bids, saying an offer of €200m or €500m would not be accepted and that he was not for sale. More than a month on, that stance is unchanged.
Bayern tend to sell only when they feel a cycle is ending, as seen with Lucas Hernandez to Paris Saint-Germain for €45m in 2023, Benjamin Pavard to Inter for €32m the same year, and Kingsley Coman to Al-Nassr for €25m last summer. Robert Lewandowski’s €45m move to Barcelona in 2022 was another such case, as was Matthijs De Ligt to Manchester United in 2024.
Olise, two seasons into his time in Germany, is instead viewed as entering a new phase and is a cornerstone under Vincent Kompany as Bayern chase the Champions League. The club view is that he should complete one more season, then decisions will depend on results.
Whether this hard line is only a negotiating stance cannot be ruled out, and a move for a like-for-like replacement would be the clearest signal. For now there is no such push, though Bradley Barcola has been earmarked if Olise were to depart. With the World Cup ending, the market should quicken from 20 July, Madrid should test Bayern with an opening bid via intermediaries, and the resolution still looks distant as the club have previously kept key players without open conflict.
