Despite heavy snowfall in Munich over the past couple of days, Saturday’s Bundesliga clash between FC Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt is expected to take place as planned.

FC Bayern were unable to train normally on Thursday due to the snow, and the pitch had to be cleared by club staff on Friday.

Nevertheless, the game shouldn't be in danger, thanks in part to a series of precautionary measures put in place by the German champions.

According to Bild, FC Bayern working closely with the weather consultancy EWB, which expects temperatures to rise to 5-7 degrees on Saturday and does not anticipate problematic snow accumulation.

Several teams will manage both the snow already on the pitch and any fresh snowfall, with 50 external helpers ready to assist on Saturday if needed.

Groundskeepers will clear the field itself, while the pitch heating system will melt the remaining snow. Additionally, the pitch will be illuminated with high-tech grow lights, which help regulate temperature.

Meanwhile, climbers have removed snow from the arena roof, and access paths to the stadium will be cleared by snowplows ahead of the game.

While Bayern can't control fans' journeys to the stadium, including public transport, kickoff is still expected to take place as scheduled at 15:30 CET.
