Despite their bitter Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain, FC Bayern are enjoying a historic season. With their 5-1 win over 1 FC Köln, the Munich side have now even broken a legendary record set by FC Barcelona during the Guardiola era
The figures for Bayern’s attack are simply impressive: with 181 competitive goals in the current 2025/26 season, Vincent Kompany’s team have now surpassed FC Barcelona’s previous European record from the 2011/12 season
Back then, Barça scored a total of 180 goals in 61 competitive matches under Pep Guardiola and superstar Lionel Messi

Particularly remarkable: Kompany broke the historic record as coach of FC Bayern of all clubs – overtaking his former mentor Pep Guardiola
The Munich team only needed 54 competitive games to score 181 goals, seven games fewer than the legendary Barça team
The record is made up of 122 goals in the Bundesliga, 43 goals in the Champions League, 14 goals in the DFB Cup and 2 goals in the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup
This makes Bayern by far the most dangerous offense in Europe

Harry Kane has of course played a big part in the record-breaking season
The English superstar has now scored an incredible 58 competitive goals and has even broken Robert Lewandowski’s previous Bayern record from the 2019/20 treble season
But it’s not just Kane who delivers
Luis Díaz with 26 goals and Michael Olise with 22 goals are also playing an outstanding season
Even Nicolas Jackson scored again in his last Bundesliga match for Bayern, taking his total to 181 goals against Cologne
The enormous breadth of the squad is also remarkable: a total of 19 Bayern professionals have already added their names to the scoring charts
The historic goalscoring run could even continue next Saturday, when FC Bayern face VfB Stuttgart in the final of the DFB Cup
Kompany’s team could now complete the double against the same opponent against whom they began their record-breaking season in the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup
After the championship, this would be the crowning glory of a season that has already secured a permanent place in European soccer history.
