Bastian Schweinsteiger has commented on Bayern’s latest transfer. Appearing in the ARD studio, the 2014 World Cup champion discussed Nathaniel Brown’s upcoming move.

FC Bayern continues to build its roster for the upcoming season. Nathaniel Brown of Eintracht Frankfurt will be moving to Säbener Straße. Ahead of the DFB team’s final group stage match against Ecuador, Schweinsteiger was asked about the deal on ARD’s “Das Erste”—and used the opportunity to offer a clear assessment.

“Good for Bayern Munich. Good for Eintracht Frankfurt, too,” said the expert. Schweinsteiger thus sees the transfer as a suitable solution for both sides. He is particularly impressed by the player himself: Brown has “developed tremendously” and also possesses “incredible potential,” according to the former Bayern star.

Schweinsteiger sees only winners in the transfer: “Congratulations to FC Bayern. Congratulations to Eintracht Frankfurt. Congratulations, Nathaniel Brown,” said the 2014 World Cup champion.

55 million euros and a five-year contract for Brown

There are concrete figures behind the move. Brown is set to transfer from Frankfurt to Munich for 55 million euros. The defender will sign a five-year contract with the German record champions, running through 2031.

But that’s likely not the end of it. Ismael Saibari, a Moroccan national team player, is also reportedly set to join FC Bayern. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has reportedly already passed his medical exam.

Schweinsteiger finally provided a lighthearted moment away from the transfer buzz. Earlier, ARD had gone live from Achim, the hometown of DFB striker Deniz Undav. The World Cup champion didn’t miss the opportunity: “Warm regards to TSV Achim,” Schweinsteiger said with a smile.

Brown isn’t the only new signing Bayern secured during the World Cup: Ismael Saibari is also coming to Munich. The Moroccan international is transferring from PSV Eindhoven to FCB.
