Bayern Munich board member Uli Hoeneß has called Michael Olise 'simply too technically gifted' and believes the winger's finishing is better than Arjen Robben.

Olise has evolved into one of the world's best wingers since signing for Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace, with the 24-year-old a key part of back-to-backBundesliga title wins.

The France international has 21 goals and 27 assists across all competitions this season, performances which have inspired the German side's chase for a treble.

Olise's 19 league assists are a joint-high across Europe's top five leagues, while he has also equalled the record for goal involvements by a winger in aBundesliga season.

Alongside Harry Kane and Luis Diaz, Olise has formed part of a Bayern Munich team that has shattered the Bundesliga's goal record this season. The German champions have scored 116 goals in 32 league games.

Attention now turns to the Champions League, where Bayern face Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their semi-final tonight. Olise was on target during a chaotic 5-4 first-leg defeat at the Parc des Princes last week.

Olise has earned comparisons to Bayern Munich legend Arjen Robben, given a preference for cutting inside from the right onto his left foot.

Robben earned a reputation for scoring stunning strikes in a similar style, but Hoeneß believes Olise might shoot with 'even more precision'.

Hoeneß: Bayern winger Olise 'simply too technically gifted'

"His incredible technique, his work rate, and above all, his finishing precision are exceptional. Arjen Robben was similar in this respect, but I think Michael has even more precision with his irresistible left-footed shot into the top left corner," he toldDAZN.

"He's simply too technically gifted. He always gets the timing right, waits until the opponent is out of position or has shifted his weight incorrectly – and then he's gone. He hardly needs any time to look for the shot. That's unusual"
