Manchester United might stand a genuine chance of landing Myles Lewis-Skelly this summer, with Arsenal opening the door for a sale.

The Red Devils are searching the market for a left-back who can take some of the burden off Luke Shaw’s broad shoulders and eventually take the torch from the 30-year-old.

The almost forgotten Tyrell Malacia will finally leave the club as a free agent in June, while Patrick Dorgu appears more comfortable when playing higher up the pitch. Hence, INEOS will resort to the market.

Arsenal ready to listen to offers for Man Utd target Myles Lewis-Skelly

In recent weeks, several sources in the British press claimed that Man Utd are interested in Lewis-Skelly, who enjoyed a breakout season in 2024/25, but his development regressed this term. He has reportedly been offered to MUFC by intermediaries.

The London native has been the victim of Arsenal’s crowded defensive department. With Gabriel and William Saliba cementing themselves as the ultimate options at the heart of the backline, Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie have been moved to left-back, thus reducing the 19-year-old’s playing time.

Therefore, BBC journalist Sami Mokbel reveals that the Gunners could allow Lewis-Skelly to leave the club at the end of the season.

The source believes the Premier League leaders are willing to listen to offers for the young left-back and his fellow teenager, Ethan Nwaneri, who is currently on loan at Olympique Marseille. Mokbel reports that the aim is to collect circa £100 million from these two sales.

Should United take a chance on Lewis-Skelly?

While Nwaneri would be expected to generate a higher transfer fee, Arsenal are also counting on a significant offer for Lewis-Skelly to reach the £100m mark.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if Man Utd directors Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell truly believe that the English teenager is the right answer for their left-back dilemma, as the youngster wouldn’t come on the cheap like fellow Arsenal academy products Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven.

While the latter duo arrived with no experience at the professional level, Lewis-Skelly already has 37 Premier League appearances under his belt.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright had hailed Lewis-Skelly for his ‘unbelievable’ display against Real Madrid, even if his momentum dropped this season.

All in all, the 19-year-old would be an exciting addition to the Man United squad, and he could benefit from the lack of competition to earn himself a prominent role in the rotation, especially if the Red Devils secure their return to Europe, as their current 3rd place in the table suggests.
