Having had a quiet January, the Blues are once again expected to busy this summer, with the squad needing reinforcements in a number of areas.

Chelsea are thought to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst they reportedly want to add another midfielder and attacker.

Chelsea unlikely to make a move for Marcos Senesi

The Blues have been criticised for their youth centred recruitment policy, but it’s believed they’re prepared to sign players with proven Premier League experience this summer.

Co-owner Behdad Eghbali has said the model will be tweaked, but fans won’t believe it until they see action taken.

The centre back department requires an overhaul, and the Blues have been linked with both Murillo and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Chelsea have previously been linked with Senesi, who’ll be a free agent when his Bournemouth contract expires this summer.

However, BBC Sport have reported sources at Chelsea have played down any suggestion they will make a move for Senesi this summer.

The 29-year-old is thought to be attracting interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham, and has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season.

Chelsea are set to be handed a boost ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final, with it being reported Reece James is ready to start.

James hasn’t started a game since March, but played his first minutes since then as a second half substitute against Liverpool last weekend.

Depending on what formation Chelsea deploy, James could line up as a right back or once again find himself in midfield.
