Bears boasting about spending beyond their means – Will they never learn?

Our Glasgow rivals The Rangers, despite sitting in second place are crowing about spending yet more cash in their pursuit of success.
Despite splashing the cash in both the summer and winter windows, they still find themselves short of top spot, and having crashed out of the Scottish Cup to a depleted Celtic side, Danny Rohl’s side still face the possibility of finishing the campaign empty handed.
That hasn’t stopped Ibrox CEO Andrew Cavenagh shouting from the rooftops about indulging on a summer spending spree, despite a negative balance sheet, something that could well come back to bite them badly.
Cavenagh and his fellow Stateside investors aren’t talking about investing from their own pockets, but are going to finance their spending splurge by raising yet more funds in the form of a share issue. So much for the Yanks having a pile of never ending riches at the disposal of the 2012 founded enterprise.
Ever since their founding father Green bought Ibrox and bought the titles this new Rangers has thrown cash in the pursuit of success, misguided in their collective belief that they belonged at the top of the Scottish footballing tree.
To get where they are today they spent heavily on transfer fees and salaries, a number which is estimated to in the hundreds of millions over the past 14 years as they look to make their name on the Scottish footballing scene.

Since Charlie Green got the show on the road the club he created has spent in excess of £100 million on transfer fees and wages in their pursuit of glory, only to have succeeded in winning three major honours. That’s despite having a negative net spend, and going deeper and deeper into debt with literally no profit to show for it along the way.
Isn’t that going against the games rules? FFP anyone? And if so, when will they be taken to task?
Another chance to remind any lurking Rangers fans of this…
