Bebeto has encouraged Endrick to recreate his iconic baby-cradle celebration at the 2026 World Cup, tying it to the forward’s family news.

"I am rooting hard for him. He is a destined boy. I will be cheering for him to score and help us. If he has the chance, let him pay tribute to his son and his wife. Family is everything," Bebeto said. "Endrick is a golden boy, he has personality and does not get intimidated. Ancelotti knows that. He will be very important for us," he added, speaking to FIFA.

The former Brazil striker introduced the celebration after scoring against the Netherlands in the 1994 quarter-final, a moment that became part of World Cup folklore.

In April, Endrick, 19, announced he is to become a father. The Real Madrid forward, on loan at Lyon, is married to Gabriely Miranda. His wife is expected to be pregnant during the tournament, echoing Bebeto’s situation in 1994, with both World Cups staged in the United States.

The baby celebrated by Bebeto in 1994 was Mattheus Oliveira, who later played professionally for Flamengo from 2012 to 2014, making 20 appearances. Now 31, the midfielder is with Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Bebeto scored the title-winning goal for Flamengo in the 1987 Brazilian championship against Internacional at a packed Maracanã. He is the club’s ninth-highest scorer with 150 goals, also part of the 1983 league-winning squad and the 1986 Carioca triumph.
