After their elimination from the UCL, there could have been no better way for FC Barcelona than a win in El Clásico to get their spirits back. And this is exactly what they got as they faced Real Madrid last night, and emerged winners with a 4-3 scoreline.
With this win, the Blaugranes now have the La Liga title in the bag, as they are now seven points clear of the Merengues with only three games left to play.
But in addition to the three points and their importance for La Liga, this match was particularly special for the defender Alejandro Balde, who returned to the pitch after spending the last few weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard also talked to the media after the match and expressed his happiness with the win:
“Yes, very happy with the win. Above all, for my team—it was a tough match. On the other hand, it’s been a difficult few weeks in which I missed very important games. Now I’m happy to be back.”

Balde ensured that he remained calm even when his team had gone two goals down:
“I was calm at 0-2, I don’t know why. I knew we could come back, and today we did it again.”
The defender also praised Raphinha for the season he is having:
“Raphinha is having an incredible season, not just because of the numbers, but because he’s giving a lot to the team.”
The fullback admitted that he faced some difficulties in this game:
“The truth is, those were tough minutes. I ended up tired because I hadn’t played in a while—you have to be ready, and I felt really good.”
Barcelona have the season almost over for them, as they only have three more games to play and need only 1 win to be declared the champions of Spain. Still, Alejandro Balde returning to the pitch would be great news for Hansi Flick, who would be keen to start preparing for the next season as soon as possible.
