Before cup final against Bayern: Demirovic sends out first challenge | OneFootball

The tension is building ahead of the DFB Cup final between FC Bayern and VfB Stuttgart. VfB attacker Ermedin Demirovic is already focusing on the final in Berlin – and has clear words for Munich

In an interview with BILD, the striker made it clear how important the cup is to the Swabians. „Titles are great!“ explained Demirovic and added with a view to the final against the record champions: „We want to defend the DFB Cup, especially against Bayern that would be something special. They are the best team in Germany and one of the best in Europe.“

Demirovic believes he has a chance against Bayern

FC Bayern recently defeated VfB 4:2 in the Bundesliga, but Demirovic does not want to be intimidated by this. „We are rightly in the final. And as we all know, anything is possible in soccer, even if Bayern are of course the favorites,“ said the former Augsburg player

Bayern’s well-known goal anthem also seems to have left its mark on the VfB player. „I hope that we don’t have to hear Bayern’s goal anthem often in Berlin – ideally not at all. I heard that ‚Jabadabadu‘ at the beginning of the song too often as a player,“ explained Demirovic with a wink

In addition to the cup final, Demirovic also spoke at length about Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß, with the 26-year-old making it clear what part the coach has played in the Swabians‘ upswing

„I hope he stays with us for a very long time! Basically, there is no limit to the coach,“ said Demirovic

He is particularly impressed by the way Hoeneß works with the team: „The way he coaches and improves the team, there is no club in the world that I wouldn’t trust him with,“ enthused the attacking player

Interestingly, Demirovic also indirectly brought FC Bayern into the game: „I can imagine that Bayern would like to have him at some point,“ explained the Stuttgart attacker

Sebastian Hoeneß has been repeatedly linked with top clubs for months. The nephew of Uli Hoeneß has led VfB back to the top flight after difficult years and has now even taken them to the cup final

For FC Bayern, the aim in Berlin is to at least complete the double after their Champions League exit. VfB Stuttgart, on the other hand, want to put a spoke in Munich’s wheel – and Demirovic has already announced that the Swabians will invest everything to achieve this.
