BELGIUM KNOCKED OUT AFTER SPAIN'S LATE WINNER | OneFootball

Alexis Saelemaekers and Koni De Winter's 2026 World Cup journey comes to an end in the quarter-finals. Belgium, featuring the two Rossoneri, were beaten 2-1 by Spain, who secured their place in the semi-finals, where they will face France. La Roja opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Fabián Ruiz, before the Red Devils levelled the score in the 41st minute with De Ketelaere. In the second half, Merino's decisive goal in the 42nd minute sent Spain through to the semi-finals. 

As for our Rossoneri, Alexis Saelemaekers came on in the 86th minute as Belgium pressed for a late equaliser. Meanwhile, Koni De Winter was on the bench for the match. Both players' World Cup adventures end here.
