Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Real Madrid moved seven points clear at the top of La Liga with a comfortable 4-0 win over Valencia at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Xabi Alonso’s side took control early and were ahead after 19 minutes when César Tárrega handled in the box, allowing Mbappé to open the scoring from the penalty spot.
The Frenchman doubled his tally just after the half-hour mark, volleying in from close range after a precise cross from Arda Güler, who had been played through by Jude Bellingham.
Real were awarded a second penalty before half-time when Álvaro Carreras was tripped by Thierry Correia, but Vinícius Júnior’s effort down the middle was saved by Julen Agirrezabala.
The miss mattered little as Bellingham added a third moments later, finding the bottom corner from the edge of the area with a well-placed strike.
The second half saw Madrid maintain control, limiting Valencia’s opportunities to counter. With eight minutes remaining, Carreras sealed the win in style, cutting in from the left and curling a superb left-footed effort into the top corner to complete the scoring.
The victory marked Real Madrid’s fourth consecutive league win, keeping them comfortably at the summit of La Liga ahead of Villarreal.
