Bellingham urges positivity after Tuchel criticises England performance | OneFootball

Jude Bellingham stressed the importance of being positive following criticism from England boss Thomas Tuchel’s about his side’s performance against Norway.

Bellingham scored twice to send England through to the semi finals of the World Cup with a 2-1 win over Norway.

But Tuchel was left disappointed with the performance, saying his side were “lucky” to win.

“Maybe, or maybe he doesn’t know what it’s like to play in those kind of conditions against Haaland, Odegaard, Nusa, Sorloth,” Bellingham said when asked whether Tuchel’s criticism of the performance demonstrated his high standards.

“That’s not an easy team to play against.

“I think we’ve tried to create a positive environment and we should continue that going into the final four.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the lads. You’re not going to win every game popping the ball about and making 1,000 passes. Sometimes you have to win dirty and we did that again tonight.”

Bellingham also says reaching his first World Cup semi final is a dream come true.

“I’m a confident boy but I don’t think you go to bed at night dreaming about games like that,” he said.

“it’s nice to have an impact and to help my team but my god the effort of those lads in there, you know I’m so proud of how they keep battling regardless of what situations we find ourselves in. They can be really proud and I know they are and I’ll make sure they feel that as well.”
