António Silva should be available to face Porto, joining Enzo Barrenechea in Benfica’s options, though the centre-back is short of full fitness. According to Glorioso 1904, the importance of the tie could see him push through the pain.

José Mourinho said he cannot guarantee that António Silva will play, nor claim he will not. He added that António, Gonçalo, Tomás and João Fonseca are all included with the possibility that Silva might not make it, calling the situation unclear.

As things stand, Silva is set to partner Tomás Araújo in central defence, with Barrenechea expected to take the midfield role. Nicolás Otamendi is suspended, Amar Dedic will start on the right and Samuel Dahl will operate on the left.

This season, Silva, valued at 30 million euros, has made 25 appearances for Benfica, totalling 2,023 minutes. They comprise 11 in Liga Portugal Betclic, nine in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.

The quarter-final in the Taça de Portugal Generali Tranquilidade is at Estádio do Dragão on Wednesday 14 January 2026, kicking off at 20:45, and will be shown on RTP 1.
