Benfica confirm Tiago Parente loan to Swansea as he is not in Marco Silva’s plans | OneFootball

Benfica confirmed on Monday that Tiago Parente has joined Swansea on a season-long loan with an option to buy, the fee undisclosed, after he was not in Marco Silva’s plans.

The 20-year-old left-back, a Portugal youth international, moves to the Championship seeking regular senior minutes. He largely featured for Benfica B last term.

In 2025/26 he made 21 appearances in the II Liga, as well as three outings for the under-23s and two Youth League games for the under-19s.

At Swansea he will find Portuguese influences, linking up with midfielder Gonçalo Franco, at the club since last season, and working under recently appointed head coach Vítor Matos.

Swansea finished 11th in last season’s Championship and are preparing for a campaign aimed at challenging towards the top end of the table.
