Benfica futsal pivot Jacaré faces uncertain future, could return to Brazil | OneFootball

Jacaré’s Benfica future is uncertain as his futsal contract approaches its end.

According to Glorioso 1904, the board led by Rui Costa has yet to give the matter full attention. The 27-year-old Brazilian has not received a renewal offer and has other options in mind.

If he does leave, he is expected to prioritise a return to Brazil, where the pivot first made his name before moving to Europe.

Even so, his commitment to Benfica remains strong while the season continues, with Cassiano Klein’s side pursuing two more national titles after lifting the Taça da Liga.

Used largely as an impact substitute this term, Jacaré has made 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and supplying seven assists.

His Benfica honours include one Campeonato Nacional, one Taça de Portugal, one Supertaça and two Taças da Liga.
