Benfica ‘in talks’ to sign Paulo Dybala on a free | OneFootball

Corriere della Sera reports that Benfica have opened talks to sign Paulo Dybala, whose Roma contract expires in June.

The club intend to secure the Argentine for next season on a free, and he is permitted to negotiate with other sides.

The report also notes potential hurdles, including competition from Monaco and Como, who could make stronger financial offers, with Boca Juniors also in the chase.

Roma coach Gianpiero Gasperini is said to be unwilling to lose the 32-year-old despite a less impressive season, and has asked the board to pursue a new renewal, though his future remains uncertain.

Dybala previously worked under José Mourinho in Rome between 2022 and 2024, making 56 appearances, scoring 24 and providing 12 assists.

This season, valued at five million euros, he has played 21 times for Roma, scoring three and assisting four across 16 Serie A matches, four in the Europa League and one in the Coppa Italia, for a total of 1,227 minutes.
