Benfica investigate fans over monkey imitations at Real Madrid match | OneFootball

According to O Jogo, Benfica have launched an internal investigation to identify supporters seen making monkey imitations during the Champions League match against Real Madrid.

The probe targets fans who made the gestures in the stands, with two supporters spotted during the tie.

UEFA is also conducting an investigation into suspected racist remarks by Gianluca Prestianni towards Vinicius linked to the same game.

Clips from the stands spread quickly on social media after full-time. The club is said to have reviewed broadcast and stadium surveillance footage to track those involved.

If identified, the supporters, who appeared young, face heavy sanctions from the club. The inquiry is reportedly close to being concluded.
