A Bola reports that Benfica’s opening offer is around €1.2m net per season, an uplift on his current terms but short of expectations. His side are seeking a package closer to €2m net.

Silva feels his sporting importance merits stronger recognition, with the process overseen by family and Gestifute, the agency led by Jorge Mendes. He is aware of the squad’s wage realities and wants to be nearer the team’s most influential earners.

Interest from Newcastle and Juventus in recent windows has also influenced his position, with more lucrative terms previously mooted. Benfica held firm and kept one of their most valuable assets.
