Benfica are already planning next season and José Mourinho has signalled he wants changes after the recent draw with Casa Pia, which prompted a stern message from the coach. Several high-cost recruits are now under thorough internal review.

According to O JOGO, the at-risk group includes Enzo Barrenechea, Dodi Lukebakio and Georgiy Sudakov, whose output has fallen short of expectations.

Barrenechea cost about 15 million euros and Lukebakio roughly 20 million, and both have seen limited minutes. Sudakov, a deal totalling around 27 million, has not fully convinced, particularly after a quiet second half in the most recent outing.

Franjo Ivanovic, a reinforcement valued at about 22 million euros, is also vulnerable given his sparse use. Manu Silva, signed for around 12 million, and Bruma, who cost six million, could likewise be negotiated at season’s end.

Together, the players under review represent more than 100 million euros of investment. The picture underlines the scale of a possible rebuild, with Mourinho aiming for a more competitive squad aligned to his ideas for the next campaign.
