Benfica beat Arouca 2-1 at Estádio Municipal de Arouca, preserving their unbeaten Liga Portugal season thanks to Franjo Ivanović's stoppage time winner.

Barbero converted from the spot in the seventh minute after António Silva was penalised for handball, a decision VAR confirmed. Richard Ríos levelled with a close-range header from Andreas Schjelderup's corner (50.).

Substitute Ivanović then decided it in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time, steering in Gianluca Prestianni's cross from the right.

Tempers flared moments later as Alfonso Trezza and Amar Dedić were both sent off for violent conduct in the eighth minute of second half stoppage time.
