Benfica ‘to consider’ ex Manchester City goalkeeper as Trubin replacement | OneFootball

Benfica are weighing a move for former Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson if Anatoliy Trubin leaves this summer.

SIC Notícias reports that any return would only progress if Benfica sell Trubin. Ederson, 32, is under contract at Fenerbahçe until June 2028 and has again been linked with a move back to Lisbon.

The Ukrainian has attracted strong interest from England, with Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur among the leading contenders for his signature.

Tottenham view the Benfica keeper as a long-term option and could benefit from Roberto De Zerbi’s connection to the player. The Italian worked with Trubin at Shakhtar Donetsk and is regarded as an admirer of his qualities.

Ederson previously rose to prominence at Benfica, where he gained international profile before establishing himself at the highest level. He is currently with Fenerbahçe in Türkiye.
