Benfica ‘to consider’ Sidny Cabral exit, Eredivisie seen as solution | OneFootball

Sidny Cabral’s Benfica future is in doubt, with rumours suggesting the Eredivisie could be his next step after struggling to convince under José Mourinho.

O Jogo reports that a stay beyond this season is not guaranteed, particularly if Mourinho remains and possibly renews his contract. The 23-year-old is said to be weighing his options.

He has received enquiries for next season, with a chunk of the interest coming from clubs in the Netherlands, where he developed at youth level.

Cabral, Benfica’s No 15, made a bright start but drifted from contention and incidents have not helped, notably when he asked Vinícius Jr for a shirt, which irked supporters.

He joined from Estrela da Amadora in the winter window for €5.75m, with add-ons up to €2.5m.

Despite the uncertainty, Benfica are not currently entertaining offers and plan to assess the winger during the World Cup with Cape Verde.
