Benfica ‘to move for’ Dzenan Pejcinovic ahead of Flamengo friendly | OneFootball

With Flamengo due to face Benfica in Portugal during the World Cup break, Kicker reports that the Portuguese club are attempting to sign Wolfsburg striker Dzenan Pejcinovic.

Freiburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt are also monitoring the 21-year-old.

Pejcinovic was a standout for Wolfsburg in 2025/26, despite the team’s relegation to Germany’s second tier. He scored 11 goals and provided one assist in 32 appearances.

Flamengo will meet Benfica on 11 July in the Algarve, part of their mid-season programme during the Campeonato Brasileiro pause.

The Brazilian side will also play Birmingham City of England and Falkirk of Scotland in Portugal. They are scheduled to travel to Europe on 29 June.
