Benfica ‘to target’ Josip Sutalo, Modric team-mate, as António Silva nears Bournemouth move | OneFootball

CNN Portugal reports that Benfica have identified Josip Sutalo as the chosen option to reinforce central defence.

The interest is linked to António Silva, who is very close to joining Bournemouth.

Sutalo, 26, is a Croatia international and a team-mate of Modric. He plays for Ajax.

He made 31 appearances for the Amsterdam club last season.

At the 2026 World Cup he played all four of Croatia’s matches, their campaign ending against Portugal.
