Benfica are closely following the progress of goalkeeper André Gomes and are encouraged by his form on loan at Alverca.
According to Glorioso 1904, the club are seriously considering integrating the young keeper into José Mourinho's first-team squad for 2026/27.
On loan at the Ribatejo side, he has been the undisputed first choice. Regular game time aligns with Benfica's plan for him to gain senior minutes and competitive experience.
Despite the odd mistake, his assured performances and maturity have underlined the potential long recognised by the club.
If a first-team return is agreed next summer, his contract is set to be revisited. He is under deal until June 2028 and could extend to secure his future.
This season, André Gomes, valued at €2.5 million, has made 16 appearances, all in Liga Portugal Betclic. Across 1,440 minutes he has conceded 25 goals, yet his displays for Alverca have been viewed positively.
