Benjamin Bourigeaud has left Al-Duhail to join Al-Ahli on a three-year deal, keeping the former Rennes and Lens midfielder in Qatar.
According to L'Équipe, the 32-year-old completed the move on Friday. Al-Ahli finished ninth in the Stars League last season.
A product of RC Lens, Bourigeaud was a key figure from 2013 to 2017, then became a mainstay at Rennes from 2017 to 2024, playing 311 matches and scoring 66 goals.
He will line up alongside William Troost-Ekong, Julian Draxler (32) and Sekou Yansané. Al-Ahli are coached by Spaniard Borja Jimenez (41), previously in charge at La Corogne, Leganés and Gijón.
Across two seasons with Al-Duhail, Bourigeaud recorded 15 goals and 16 assists in 62 appearances.
At Al-Duhail he played with fellow Ligue 1 alumni Arthur Desmas, Jean-Charles Castelletto, Youssouf Sabaly and Marco Verratti, a key midfielder for PSG. Under Christophe Galtier in 2024-2025 the club finished second in the Qatari league, then last season under Djamel Belmadi they ended fifth.
