Benjamin Pavard open to joining Marseille | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Benjamin Pavard (29) has given the green light to Olympique de Marseille to pursue his signature.

Marseille are currently now discussing their options with Inter Milan. The Italian side want a transfer, while Marseille are only willing to offer a loan with an option to purchase. Foot Mercato notes that this situation could change, especially as Inter have already reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Pavard’s replacement, Manuel Akanji.

This isn’t the only option that Marseille are considering as they look to strengthen a defensive line that has looked under nervy in the first three games of the season. The club have already reached an agreement to sign Nayef Aguerd (29) from West Ham United.

The experienced defender is set to return to Ligue 1 having previously played for Dijon and Stade Rennais, the latter of which he left for West Ham in 2022. Aguerd spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad, and despite returning to the fold under Graham Potter for the ongoing campaign, the centre-back has been earmarked for a move away.
