Benoît Tavenot has set the longest winless run for a head coach in Ligue one or two this century after Metz drew at Le Havre on Sunday, taking his sequence to 24 matches without a victory.

As reported by L'Équipe, Metz are not yet in Ligue two, but the stalemate still handed their coach an unwanted place in the record books.

Tavenot began the campaign in charge of Bastia in Ligue two, where he recorded four draws and seven defeats.

Since arriving at Metz in January, he has added four draws and nine defeats to that run.

The 24-match sequence moves him past Faruk Hadzibegic, who went 23 games without a win with Arles-Avignon between November 2010 and May 2011 in Ligue one, in a season when ACA finished bottom.
