Bernard Caïazzo, the former chairman of AS Saint-Etienne’s supervisory board, has released a book of interviews, Temps additionnel, recounting 40 years in professional football. According to Le Progres, it charts his path from creating PSG’s corporate boxes to serving as Marseille’s commercial director, and his 20 years leading the Verts.
The project spans 22 chapters and is produced with journalist Denis Chaumier. He has also sat for an interview.
Despite seeking a positive tone, he delivers some barbs and details aspects of Saint-Etienne’s sale to Kilmer, along with plenty of anecdotes.
He acknowledges certain mistakes and contradictions, while often placing himself above the fray.
His take on the football circus, shaped by 14 years inside the game’s institutions, is likely to please long-time allies and irritate critics.
