As the curtain falls on one of the most decorated careers in Manchester City history, Juventus have emerged as frontrunners to sign Bernardo Silva on a free transfer this summer.
The midfielder was recently spotted filming a farewell video, having already announced his impending departure from the Etihad Stadium earlier this year.
Given his pivotal role in City’s most successful era under Pep Guardiola, it is no surprise that Silva has several suitors as he prepares to leave the Sky Blues.
Juventus director Damien Comolli has held ongoing talks with Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, in recent days and is preparing a contract offer until 2028—with an option to extend to 2029—worth approximately €8 million per year.
Luciano Spalletti is understood to have personally contacted Silva in a bid to persuade him to move to Turin, a show of intent that underlines how highly the former City captain is regarded at the Allianz Stadium.
Silva would be the missing piece in Spalletti’s midfield puzzle—a player whose technical qualities would complement Khephren Thuram’s physical strength and Manuel Locatelli’s defensive solidity in a way few can match.
The 31-year-old brings not only quality but also leadership—a commodity Juventus have visibly lacked in their push to return to the summit of Italian football.
Galatasaray have emerged as surprise contenders, but Silva has not shown any inclination to move to Turkey at this stage of his career.
Nine years. Nineteen trophies. Four hundred and fifty-seven appearances. The Bernardo Silva era at Manchester City is ending. The next chapter, it seems, will be written in black and white.
