Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of Tammy Abraham (28) after Besiktas paid £11.2m to make his move from Roma permanent, BBC Sport reports.
The Turkish club were required to buy the striker under the terms of last summer’s loan deal but are now preparing to sell him to Villa in an £18m transfer.
Abraham travelled to the UK on Friday and completed a medical on Saturday, with the deal expected to be finalised shortly.
Besiktas did not want to sell the 28-year-old but accepted Villa’s offer after activating their obligation to buy. In a statement, the Super Lig club confirmed they will pay Roma a fee of €13m (£11.2m).
The former Chelsea forward scored 12 goals in 24 games for Besiktas this season and has 11 England caps.
Abraham previously played for Villa during the 2018-19 season, scoring 25 goals as they won promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.
He joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021 for £34m and scored 39 goals in 120 appearances, helping the club win the Europa Conference League in 2022. He later spent the 2024-25 season on loan at AC Milan, scoring 10 times in 44 games.
Villa manager Unai Emery has been keen to strengthen his attacking options, with Abraham set to provide competition and cover up front.
